COVID Patio Weather Closure -  FAQ & Protocols:

At what point do we close the patio due to bad weather?  Heavy rain, hail, snow, sleet, strong winds, thunderstorm, horn goes off, extreme cold temperature
Why do we close the patio due to bad weather?  For the safety and general well being of our staff and members. Serving members in extreme weather conditions is not the experience that we want to give.  Additionally, we have a responsibility not to put our staff or members in harms way
Who makes the decision to close the patio?  The Clubhouse Manager Jordan Morgan,  F&B Manager on duty or Closing Bartender communicates to the servers and patio host who in turn, let all tables who are sat or who are waiting to be sat know that the patio is now closed.  This happens in a matter of minutes when a bad storm rolls in.
How is the patio closure communicated & what happens next?  When the staff is alerted of a major weather pattern or storm approaching, the chalkboard sign at the patio entrance will be flipped to say 'Patio Closed'.  Servers will communicate the closure to any existing tables, let all tables know that open chits will be settled up and offer to go boxes & cups or offer to make any current food orders to go. Servers will also communicate to all tables at that time that they will not be back out on the patio until the extreme weather subsides.  Members who are already seated on the patio are welcome to stay and wait out the storm at their own risk (unless the horn goes, see below), however there won't be any service on the patio during that time or any new tables sat.  Any members waiting to be sat will be informed that the patio is closed.  This goes for all patio tables, covered and uncovered.  We will also do our best if we are considering closing the patio to communicate that information in advance to all current tables and any members that we are in the process of seating.
What happens when the horn goes off:  Same process as above but w
e ask that everyone from the patio heads directly to their vehicles until the 'all clear' horn goes again.  No waiting on the patio is permitted other than for food or drink being boxed up.
What we expect you as members to do: Treat the staff with respect and understanding. Follow COVID protocols.  Please don't seat yourself when you see the patio is closed due to poor weather.  We ask that you wait in your vehicle until the inclement weather passes.  Feel free to call us in the Clubhouse at 403-281-1188 ext. 103 for updates on if and when the patio will re-open.  When it's safe and when the patio is dry, we're happy to welcome you back out there.
What you can expect the F&B staff to do:
Communicate effectively and act efficiently. We make the decision that is in the best interest of all members and staff, not just one individual or one group of members.  We empower our servers and hosts to deliver the message about patio closure in a safe & timely manner.
